Sidy Maïga, celebrated for his ability to bring people together through the universal language of rhythm, blends traditional Malian music with influences from Latin, blues, and Brazilian styles. This is more than a performance—it’s a celebration of community, storytelling, and the joy of music.

About Sidy Maïga
Born and raised in Mali, Sidy Maïga honed his drumming skills under the guidance of master djembefolas and toured nationally with acclaimed troupes before relocating to Rhode Island in 2006. A key figure in New England’s music scene, Sidy is renowned for his ability to weave Malian traditions with global styles. He is the founder of the West African Dance and Drum Festival: Afrika Nyaga, a graduate of Berklee College of Music, and a recipient of the prestigious MacColl-Johnson Fellowship.
