On Friday, March 7, we’re thrilled to present a special edition performance by Jason Smith’s band, The Hot Club Cheese Roll (HCCR) sextet. Get ready to dust off your dancing shoes for a toe-tapping, stylish evening of music that combines timeless jazz standards with an irresistible rhythm!
The Hot Club Cheese Roll has been delighting audiences across the Southcoast for over eight years, performing jazz standards and popular favorites in the distinctive "Gypsy Jazz" style pioneered in 1930s Paris by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Traditionally a trio with Jason Smith on guitar, John Birt on guitar, and Mark Russell on violin, this performance will feature a rare sextet arrangement, with Albert Behar on accordion, Casey Belisle on drums, and Tanner McMullen on upright bass adding new depth and energy to their sound.
Mark your calendar for this one-of-a-kind event and join us for an evening of culture, connection, and entertainment among the treasures of the Whaling Museum!
