Peirce Nature Trail, a serene retreat nestled in the woods and wetlands of New Bedford. During this unique soundwalk, participants will focus on actively listening to the surrounding environment. About the Trail

The Flora B. Peirce Nature Trail, a true gem of New Bedford, winds through meadows, forests, and wetlands. Located adjacent to the expansive 1,850-acre Acushnet Cedar Swamp, this natural haven is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including deer, turkeys, coyotes, and a wide range of songbirds thriving in this protected network of habitats.

The trail features a tranquil pond, teeming with frogs, turtles, salamanders, and dragonflies. This pond eventually feeds into the Paskamansett/Slocums River, which flows through Dartmouth and into Buzzards Bay!
