On Thursday, November 21 at 6:00 PM in the Cook Memorial Theater, the Whaling Museum will host another edition of The New Bedford Light's Fine Arts Club. This recurring monthly event is a place to celebrate talented local artists and a marketplace where buyers, enthusiasts and artists meet.
Who participates: Any local artist who practices in one of the fine arts and all prospective art buyers. Disciplines include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and textiles. Click here to submit.
Moderators: Local artists Devin “Nived” McLaughlin and Scott Bishop.
Format: A short introduction from New Bedford Light, followed by 5-minute artist presentations and Q&A with presenting artists, followed by a talk by guest speaker Thomas Deininger. The presentations in the Theater will be followed by a 30-minute “Afterglow" in the Jacobs Family Gallery, a loosely structured open discussion among the artists, buyers and other attendees about art-related topics.
Artists interested in submitting their work can learn more on the New Bedford Light's website. All are welcome to attend. Admission is free, but registration is kindly requested.
