Moby-Dick Marathon (January 7-8, 2012)                     

This world-renowned, weekend-long continuous reading of the famous novel is held the second weekend in January. The event attracts over 1,000 participants, some reading passages aloud and some enjoying the event to its maximum potential by staying-on for the full 24-hour reading. Promoted to the Museum’s membership and throughout the region, the Moby Dick Marathon receives extensive media coverage in the US and abroad. In addition to the on-site participants, another 1,000+ Melville enthusiasts from across the globe follow the live online streaming.

Over the Top (August 4, 2012)                                 

This casually elegant, fun-filled evening includes a variety of delectable food, fabulous music and a live and silent auction.  The festive Over the Top benefit for the NBWM brings together people from all around the South Coast who want to show their support for the Museum.  The gala is preceded by a VIP preview party on Friday, July 27th.

The 7th Annual Summer Gala will be a signature event on the South Coast social calendar.  Sponsors will receive remarkable access to key constituents and decision makers who are “educated, upscale and passionate.” Prominent exposure is associated with sponsorship through the media, superb print materials and product placement.  The Museum has a reputation for the highest production values that make for a truly memorable experience.

Sailor’s Series Lectures (January – April 2012)               

These popular illustrated lectures, offered January through April, present a wide variety of experiences and adventures by individuals with lifelong commitments to sailing, boats, and the sea.  The sponsor will receive prominent logo recognition at each lecture, in the printed brochure, the Calendar of Events, Museum website with link to sponsor website, and all related print materials and publicity. 

Winter or Spring School Vacation Week Activities     

School vacation weeks are among our highest attendance weeks of the year. All activities during vacation weeks are for the entire family and free with Museum admission. With different programming each day, parents love the opportunity to bring children to the Museum for engaging activities.
