Teacher Reservations

EDUCATION PROGRAMS
The Museum offers school programs specifically designed to correspond with the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks. Please view our education programs brochure for more information.

 

RATES

School program (guided)
One science or history, language arts and culture program: $7 per student
One science and one history, language arts and culture program: $12 per student

School program (self-guided)
$7 per student, grades 9-12 (age 15+)
$6 per student, grades K-8 (age 6-14)

 

Chaperones
A minimum of one chaperone is required for every ten students. Student aides and one adult (teacher, parent or other) per every ten students are admitted for free. Each additional adult is $10 per adult. Chaperones are responsible for the behavior and wellbeing of all children in their group.

Payment
Please bring your confirmation letter and full payment in the form of cash, credit card, debit card or check (made payable to ODHS) on the day of your visit.

Lunch
School groups have the opportunity to bring bagged lunches and eat them in our Jacobs Family Gallery beneath three fully articulated whale skeletons, or in our plaza, located in the heart of the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. Fee: $30 per group per day.

Dual Programs
The Whaling Museum works with other partners in Downtown New Bedford such as the National Park Visitor Center to deliver cooperative programs upon request. For information about school programs at these locations, please contact:
