Museum Opportunities for Interns, Apprentices and Scholars

The New Bedford Whaling Museum, a center of educational, cultural and community activity, offers opportunities to students as part of a four-part internship and apprentice program. These programs provide paid apprenticeships, paid and unpaid internships and mentoring opportunities to deserving high school and college students with an interest in the arts and sciences and their local culture. In addition, upper-level college or graduate students are offered the opportunity to engage in focused scholarship research under the guidance of the Museum’s Curatorial Staff. Also, with the visiting scholars in residence program the Museum provides support to researchers who are undertaking long-term research projects and need residential assistance. Further inquiries for any of these programs may be addressed to General Education Inquiries,
