Saturday, August 2, 2014
The Over the Top gala is a signature event on the Massachusetts South Coast summer calendar. OTT 2014 was a unique event. With construction of the Wattles Jacobs Education Center underway, the theme of Over the Top: Under Construction, embraced the “unfinished” nature of our construction site and gave guests a special insider preview of the new building.
The New Bedford Whaling Museum’s many hands-on exhibits and fun activities are designed to involve kids and visitors of all ages in the global story of whales, whaling, and the cultural history of the region. The museum also teaches in active and engaging ways about the environmental, economic and social impact whaling has had on the world, and of ongoing efforts toward the preservation of these magnificent mammals. This film was directed, filmed and edited by Ben Gilbarg, New Bedford. Original music by Peter Arteaga made possible through the support of Whaling City Sound and Fiber Optic Center, Inc.
