The New Bedford Whaling Museum is fortunate to have many productive partnerships with people and organizations. Watch this space.
Melville Society Cultural Project
This project is an affiliation between the Museum and the Melville Society. Together, we are dedicated to sharing an understanding of Melville's writings, his life, and his times.
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
A cooperative agreement between the Museum and the WHOI is underway with the gift of the Watkins-Schevill Collection of Marine Mammal Sound Recordings.
Connecting Coastal Communities
Partnering with the Húsavík Whale Museum in Iceland, connecting high school students with a focus on ocean conservation and ecotourism.
New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park
Sharing ongoing projects within the community related to New Bedford's whaling history.
Ute Meadows School Whaling Journal Project
The central idea behind this project – students and community members become involved in ground level historical research.
Collaborative efforts have allowed the Museum to digitize and promote the Research Library's holdings.
